Emily Anne Scalise is a mom of two (son & daughter), proud wife, Connecticut-resident, business executive, and public speaker for beauty companies like L'Oréal and Galderma. Emily received her bachelor's degree from Loyola University Maryland and her master's degree from Columbia University. 

In 2023, after a few years of having to answer, "Mommy, why do you work?" from her young daughter, Emily decided to start answering her daughter honestly, openly and with passion. For so long, she would ignore the question, avoid the topic, or sneak out to avoid a painful goodbye. Instead, Emily would tell her children why she worked and knowing children don't like to hear the same answer twice, Emily had to find purpose everyday and give them a new "why" Finally, after a work trip to Miami, Emily decided to write down some of those answers, and this book was born. 

While this book is dedicated to my children and supportive husband, it is also dedicated to parents everywhere trying their best to manage the responsibilities of work, family, and life.
